The toothaches may be causing us awful pain. If you are having serious or constant toothache or other mouth problem you should go to your dentist in order to treat it.
However, you also may be feeling some minor toothaches and pains which you can treat from your home, or at least decrease the pain before going to the dentist.
Below you can read some home remedies for handling with the tooth pain:
This is one old and effective solution. It is special because of the chemical eugenol included which has anesthetic and antibacterial characteristics.
You should soak a cotton ball in a mixture prepared from 2-3 drops of clove oil and ¼ teaspoon of olive oil. Then put the cotton ball in your mouth near the tooth that hurts and then bite down in order to keep it in place. However, do not sleep with the cotton in your mouth.
Cough drops or lozenges include little anesthetic. That is why they are helpful for eliminating the small tooth pain. You should take several cough drops and suck on them, don’t chew.
Another method is applying Vick’s VapoRub on the outside of your cheek where the pain is, then put a paper towel on your pillow and lie down on that side.
Wash It Off
You may be feeling tooth pain because of the food that gets caught between the teeth. You should try washing with mouthwash, flossing, or using interdental brushes.
You can put warm tea directly to the tooth. It is lowering the swelling due to the tannic acid it includes.
First you should remove the bark of the ginger and then cut it on pieces. After this, apply one piece on the top of the tooth that hurts and bite it. Keep the other pieces in the fridge and repeat again.
Black Cumin Oil
You should make a mixture using half a teaspoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of black cumin oil. Then heat it and leave it to cool down. You should use this to rinse in order to avoid infections and inflammations in the mouth.
For removing the pain you can also use cold compresses or other cold things. Put the cold compress on the outside for easing the pain.
However, if the pain is persistent you need to visit your dentist!
