Ingredients Needed For The Preparation Of The Homemade Yogurt:
• One quarter liter of raw, natural milk
• Two tablespoons of yogurt that does not contain sugar, or organic yogurt (to use as a starter).
Other Items Needed For The Preparation Of The Homemade Yogurt:
• Wire whisk
• Thermometer
• Saucepan
• Electric heating pad
• Quart-sized mason jar
• Bath towel
Make sure you got all the ingredients and material needed for the preparation of the homemade yogurt and you are ready to start.
Preparation Of The Homemade Yogurt
Take the milk and put it in the heated pan, till it starts boiling a little. However, it should not be blistering. As soon as the milk is heated up, pour it into the Mason jar, and let it aside until it cools off. Use the thermometer to measure the temperature. When the milk cools off to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, add the yogurt to the container and stir. Make sure you close the jar well and after that cover a heating pad around it, and then a towel. Let the heating pad turned on for ten hours, not moving the jar or the wraps. In the end, when these ten hours have passed, place the container in the fridge and leave it there for a whole night.
The following morning you will find your homemade yogurt ready. If you want to get a distinct and interesting flavor, you can add some spices or fruits, to taste. It is not recommended to use cow milk for the preparation of the homemade yogurt, as the best one is the goat milk.
